...Today I had my first classes and it was quite exciting.
- Strategic Management:
This seems to be a very useful and interesting course for my future life, but there is definitely a lot of homework to do. For each lesson there is a chapter and a case study to read and we have to be prepared for various questions. Furthermore there will be a project, two main exams and four pop-up exams to do. This mode of teaching is exactly what I have expected from the US. I'm looking forward to get more information about how difficult the topics/exams will be.
- Topics in Artificial Intelligence:
The professor here is quite funny and the topic seems to be okay. Unless this part of computer science is not my major interest anymore as this moved more to an higher level and more to the business and economic side during the time I did my BSc (Bachelor of Science) in Business Informatics in Vienna.
Let's see how it will go after the next courses at the college.

Hi Johannes,
very nice blog you created here. I can't imagine studying in NYC, must be really exciting!
I'm also looking forward to going to the US (you know I'm going to visit Stefan in Washington from september 3rd to 10th). I hope we can manage to have a short trip to New York to visit you.
So far I didn't make any arrangements for my journey, as I'm quite busy at the moment, because tomorrow I will have a performance in the State Opera with the university choir (we sing the chinese opera "Mulan" together with the Viennese Symphonic Orchestra and soloists from Beijing - in Chinese!)
also see here
(Quite strange: the Chinese producers didn't want us to be named "University Choir" because for them that sounds like a little school choir, therefore a fancy name was created: "Imperial Philharmonic Choir")
Wish you all the best and hope to see you in NYC!
greetings,
Christoph
